It was the very first, hosted by a local rare turtle/tortoise breeder family. There weren't any expos of any kind in Az, at least, not any over two hours away. It was hosted in The Fiesta Hotel down in Tempe. For an event that wasn't very well advertised, the turnout was absolutely ridiculous. There were over a thousand people crammed into the conference room. There were a lot of exhibits and stall selling rare species of reptiles.
But, right in the doorway, there was a stand with literally a wall full over over a hundred different species of baby turtles. It's one of the few times I've ever impulse buyed, but it ended up working fine. I got three little ones, a Florida cooter (a male), a African soft shell (I'm pretty sure a girl), and a Stinkpot musk turtle (the name is all show, but it's a guy). The Cooter and Softshell are about half an inch in diameter. The Musk, is under a quarter of an inch. I tried taking pictures, but they're so tiny, the camera wouldn't focus on them.
We left awhile after, getting some supplies here and there, the prices were insanely cheap. We were about to go home when I remembered the Pet inc store not too far away, and we went in. I got two Oriental fire bellied newts, 2 Dwarf Gouramis, and 5 Cherry barbs. Not to mention contless plants and gravel. Everything but the Stinkpot is in the 29gallon tank of mine, It's gorgeous. Looks like a real river bed. The Stinkpot is in a 1gallon cricket carrier, it's only a few days old, so it can't survive deeper. He's pretty cute.
